  • wtf dreams

So during the weekend, for a couple of nights in a row, I had weird dreams that occurred in the same setting. It was in my house, but it was a bit off. And for some reason, there was a white BMW, that sorta looked like Tj's bimmer, but it was sawed in half. I saw that in at least 2 dreams, and that's how I could tell that I was in a dream. Hella crazy, no? I was freakin' lucid dreaming!!

Well, the last one that I remember, I was taking deuce in my upstairs bathroom, and for some reason my auntie was in there too watching me, and I had another uncle (not the husband of the auntie but a different uncle), fully clothed in the shower next to me, taking a shower. Then my uncle was sticking the showerhead  out and spraying me. I was getting hella mad, so I go downstairs bathroom.

I forget what happened next, but I remember it was something weird or out of the usual, like the rest of the dream. I remember feeling like "what the hell is that doing there?" and "wait......something's missing here", and other stuff to that effect.

It was all so strange. I wonder if I was being "incepted"?

  • Le Weekend

sat: Mizus, Extreme Jenga part Deux, & Smash
Justin was in town. Went up to Sac to have lunch at Mizu's. Hella. Worth It. Went to Tapioca Express after. We played with the "Tumbling Tower" blocks, which is a poor man's Jenga. Those blocks sucked, so we switched to the real Jenga. And they had a 2nd set of Jenga blocks, so we combined the blocks, and played our patent-pending Extreme Jenga, also known as "you're playing with it hella wrong" Jenga. And it was awesome.

Afterwards, we went back to the V and played Smash Bros at my house. Just like old times. But I had to end it early to go to Grandma Esper's vigil.

    sun: 140
And the vigil, we went to chill/drink at Jay's house.  We were drunk & hungry, but didn't know what to eat. Chris had the genius idea to get 200 McNuggets. So we pooled up all our money, and only managed to get 140 nuggets.

Before.....(only 130 pictured. Elway had 10 in his room)

    ....and after

    Two words: NEVER. AGAIN.

I'll always have my "bet you won't do a triple shot!" of tequila in Esenada during our cousin's cruise (yeah.....that was NOT a good idea). Now Chris has his "200 chicken nuggets!"

It's kinda sad if you really listen to the lyrics. These guys need a hug.

Oh, and the Digby did a cover of it, too.

  • On A Budget

My credit card balance has been ballooning like it did when I was unemployed. Me no likey. So starting this month, I’m going to try and cut my spending and try to stick to a budget. I’ve done all the math. I’ve calculated the expenses that I can’t cut back on, like rent & gas, and I figured that if I can stick to a monthly budget of about $400 for food & other miscellaneous expenses, I can get my balance to near $0 by July (assuming I get a good amount back on my tax return). Breaking that down further, it leaves me with $3 a day for lunch, $5 for dinner, and about $160 a month for misc. expenses (or $5 a day). I think that seems reasonable.

I even made a pie chart to breakdown my monthly salary:

The biggest chunk goes to the AmEx card. And surprisingly enough, I spend the same amount on rent/utils and gas. Stupid long commute. I've also accounted for my Starbucks fix. And of course, I gotta put away some for savings.

I think the most difficult part more me is eating out. My co-workers eat out all the time, and it usually costs anywhere from $6-$15. It’s also about the same thing, sometimes more, when I go back home and eat out with my friends or with my cousins. So for the time being, I’ll get bringing my lunch to work. I’ve already sorta got a plan, too. A $5 Subway footlong can be lunch & dinner. Same thing with a $5 hot-n-ready pizza from Little Caesars. I love the “double dip”. So I can save $3 a day there and apply it to the weekend budget. And then there’s always Costco & their hella cheap food court. Can’t go wrong with anything on their menu.

Another difficult thing is cutting miscellaneous spending. Here’s a list of random stuff I bought in December (non-christmas related): sony digital camera, case, sd card, & extra battery (cause I lost my old camera), wifi card + adapter (for my hackintosh), bluetooth adapter (for my car, since the built-in one sucks balls + there was a mail-in rebate that made it hella cheap), replacement iPhone batteries & a iPhone case (for Jaymi & Shann’s phones), a master shake ceramic mug (I couldn’t NOT buy it, it’s so awesome), and an snsd wall calendar (um, well....I need a 2011 calendar, right?) November was just as random, just as costly. So now I have to make a conscious effort to NOT buy whatever just for the heck of it, to just buy what is absolutely needed, like toilet paper or laundry detergent. Oh, and I should probably stop buying stuff for other people. Apparently, I do that a lot.

I’m basically going back to “broke college student” mode, or survival mode. I’ll see if I can stick to this budget for a month. Maybe I can try to come in under budget! If I can do a month, and get used to it, the following months should be cake.

    Goodbye chocolate....

Last Wednesday, a co-worker got me these chocolates from Target. I totally didn't finish them all before the New Year. This one may be my toughest one yet, since it's probably the broadest thing I've given up.

    ....Hello sushi!

Shann and I went to I Love Teriyaki in Concord. We got 4 rolls: Lion King, Alaska, Ryan, & Lava, and seared ahi tuna. It was de-freakin'-licious. Sorta can't believe I gave it up for a year.
(We were supposed to go to Fuji's in Davis or Mizu's in Sac, but they were too far away and we had to stay close to the V. But we'll eventually go to both.)

And on a totally unrelated note, this finally came in, after being on backorder for hecka long:

Best. Ceramic. Cup. Ever. Though I don't know if I'll actually use it as a cup. I already have a Starbucks ceramic cup that I use for my morning tea/coffee. And actually drinking out of Master Shake would be sorta weird, right?
